Li Auto’s All-New L8 Starts Made-in-China Deliveries With an 800V Active Suspension at a 359,800 RMB Promo Price

Li Auto handed over the first batch of all-new (third-generation) L8 six-seat family SUVs on June 27, 2026, with initial customers in Changzhou, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai receiving cars and additional cities unlocking progressively. The 2026 L8 is offered in two trims — L8 Pro at 369,800 RMB and L8 Ultra at 429,800 RMB — both knocked 10,000 RMB lower through Q3 2026 as a launch promotion, landing the L8 Pro at 359,800 RMB and the L8 Ultra at 419,800 RMB.

Key Highlights

The third-generation L8 jumps to Li Auto’s 800V high-voltage architecture for both EREV and BEV variants, picks up the new “Star Ring” front lighting signature shared with the L9 and L6 facelifts, and stretches slightly to 5,080 × 1,995 × 1,800 mm on a 3,005 mm wheelbase while keeping the 2+2+2 six-seat layout. Pre-delivery reservations had already cleared 30,000 units, and Li Auto is targeting 8,000–12,000 monthly L8 deliveries by August 2026. Inside, the cabin gains a 16.7-inch HUD overlay (the largest on any production EV in 2026), three 15.7-inch displays, a 21-speaker Meridian audio system and zero-gravity recline on the second-row captain’s chairs.

Why It Matters for Made-in-China Premium SUVs

The mechanical headline is the 800V-powered active suspension, marketed as “Magic Carpet 2.0” — a corner-by-corner actuator system running at up to 1,000 Hz that pre-loads damping against road irregularities sensed by the LiDAR-and-camera stack. It is among the first 800V active suspensions in any production EV worldwide, co-developed with ZF Friedrichshafen and Chinese supplier Tuopu, with actuator response roughly 5× faster than Mercedes’ 48V Magic Body Control. Combined with a 220 km CLTC pure-electric range, a 1,400+ km EREV combined range and 10–80% DC fast charging in about 12 minutes, the L8 is positioned as the most chassis-aggressive entry yet in the Made-in-China six-seat EREV bracket. iEVChina reported earlier on the trim-by-trim suspension availability and the AD Max V13 driver assistance stack.

What’s Next

Watch July and August monthly delivery prints for the L8 to validate Li Auto’s ramp target and to gauge how quickly 800V active suspension trickles down into mid-priced Chinese EREV nameplates over the back half of 2026.
