Changan Qiyuan Q06 Set for 15 July Global Debut — Dual-Powertrain Family SUV Built to Export
Changan’s Qiyuan sub-brand will lift the covers on its all-new Q06 mid-size SUV on 15 July 2026. Unlike most Chinese OEM launches, the Q06 has been engineered from day one as a global-export vehicle rather than a China-first product, and will arrive in both battery-electric (BEV) and extended-range (EREV) powertrain variants targeting a retail price around RMB 200,000 (USD 27,590).

Key Highlights
The Q06 is Changan’s second retail vehicle built on the SDA (Smart Digital Architecture) Tianshu platform, sharing about 75% of its module set with the larger Qiyuan Q07 while trimming down to a five-seat mid-size footprint (roughly 4,780 mm long, 2,880 mm wheelbase). Powertrain choices split cleanly: the BEV comes with 190 kW single-motor or 315 kW dual-motor tunes, 79–95 kWh NMC or LFP packs, an 800V electrical system and 400 kW DC fast-charging that covers 10–80% in about 15 minutes; the EREV pairs Changan’s 1.5T Blue Whale range-extender with a 32.7 kWh battery for 220 km CLTC EV range and combined range above 1,300 km. Interior tech includes a 15.6-inch rotating central touchscreen, 12.3-inch driver display, optional AR-HUD and the Deepal-shared Tianji ADAS domain controller offering city-level NoA on top trims.
Why It Matters for Chinese EV Exports
Changan is now the third-largest Chinese EV exporter behind SAIC and Chery, and the Q06 is the sharpest expression yet of that strategy. Right-hand-drive engineering is baked into SDA Tianshu from launch, and the platform is homologated to Euro NCAP 2026, IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and ANCAP standards. Priority-one markets for the 2026 export ramp include Thailand and Indonesia in Southeast Asia, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in Europe, Brazil and Mexico in Latin America, Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the Middle East, and Australia and New Zealand in Oceania. What’s Next
Pre-orders open on 15 July at the debut event itself, with production ramping in August and first customer deliveries scheduled for September. Changan officials have not confirmed final pricing, but based on the RMB 149,900 starting point of the larger six-seater Q07, the Q06 is expected to enter around RMB 179,900 (USD 24,810) for the EREV variant and stretch to RMB 219,900 (USD 30,330) for the top BEV trim — deliberately priced RMB 15,000–30,000 below the Xpeng G6 and Deepal S07 equivalents. Export shipments to Norway, the Netherlands and Thailand are targeted for Q4 2026, with wider European rollout scheduled for H1 2027.
