Leapmotor Crosses 1.5 Million Lifetime Deliveries — Stellantis Backbone Powers a Ten-Markets-by-2027 Push
Seven years and one Stellantis tie-up later, Leapmotor has crossed 1.5 million lifetime global deliveries. The Hangzhou-based EV maker confirmed the milestone at a June 18, 2026 press conference where CEO Jiang Weining (蒋宁) framed the number as a velocity story rather than a finishing line: the most recent 500,000 units took only eight months. Roughly 63% of cumulative volume is China-domestic, with Southeast Asia (19%), Europe (11%) and the Middle East (7%) making up the rest — a footprint built on the parent group’s logistics, dealer network and homologation expertise across 150+ countries via the Leapmotor International JV in which Stellantis holds 51%.
The Models Carrying the Curve
Leapmotor’s June run rate is anchored by the new C-series facelift — the C10 compact SUV, C11 midsize and three-row C16 flagship — relaunched this month at 125,800 to 209,800 RMB ($17,350-$28,930). Underneath sits the brand’s first dedicated BEV sedan, the B01, on the new 400V LEAP3.5 platform: 62.8 kWh LFP pack, 520 km CLTC range and a sticker of 109,800 RMB ($15,140) that aims directly at BYD Dolphin, XPeng MONA M03 and MG4 EV territory. The B01 has already booked 28,000 orders in the 15 days since its June 6 launch, and is the model Leapmotor will lead European catalogue expansion with from 2027.
“Ten Markets by 2027” Roadmap
Jiang used the milestone press conference to publish a phased export plan that adds nine new markets to the current 22-country footprint. Q3 2026 brings Brazil and Mexico, with a São Paulo CKD assembly partnership announced alongside the launch. Q4 2026 formalizes Australia and New Zealand entry through Leapmotor’s own importer network (previously routed via parent Stellantis). Q1 2027 opens a pilot retail launch in Germany and the Netherlands, ahead of a full European distributor network across 14 EU markets in Q2 2027. The T03 city car will be quietly phased out in Europe over the same window — it fails post-2025 EU GSHR ADAS homologation — replaced by the B01 and the next wave of B-segment EREVs.
Where Leapmotor Now Sits in the Chinese EV Pecking Order
The 1.5M milestone places Leapmotor behind BYD (25M+), Tesla China (5M+), Li Auto domestic (1.5M) and AION (2M+) but ahead of NIO (0.6M), Zeekr (0.45M) and most legacy JV imports. The differentiation is structural: Leapmotor is the only Chinese-brand EV maker whose global rollout effectively rides on a Western OEM’s distribution rails at near-zero incremental cost. For price-sensitive markets like Thailand (~12% EV penetration) and Brazil (~3%), the B01’s sub-$17,000 base before incentives is likely to be the most disruptive headline of H2 2026.
