Lynk & Co 07 EM-P Facelift Filed: Updated Body Kit, 150 km EV Range, ¥160K Sedan Stays Sharp
Lynk & Co has filed the 2026 model-year 07 EM-P facelift with China’s MIIT, only a year after the current 07 EM-P went on sale. The refresh focuses on bumper revisions, optional aero hardware, and a slightly stretched body — while the underlying 1.5T plug-in-hybrid system, 28.3 kWh “Shendun Gold Brick” LFP battery, and 150 km CLTC pure-electric range carry over from the current car. The outgoing 07 EM-P sits at ¥155,800–¥185,800 (~$21,500–$25,600); the facelift is expected to hold that price band.
The 07 EM-P sedan is the volume sibling of the just-revealed 07 GT wagon — for the wagon’s launch specs, see Lynk & Co 07 GT wagon coverage.
What’s New on the Facelift
- Front bumper: Larger air intakes with revised vertical inserts
- Rear bumper: Three-piece diffuser-style design to match the new front end
- Length: Stretched 11 cm to 4,846 mm (4,866 mm with aero kit); width 1,900 mm; height 1,480 mm; wheelbase unchanged at 2,843 mm
- Wheels: 18-inch or 19-inch options, same as outgoing
- Optional Ultra Carbon Wing trim: Front splitter, side skirts, rear lip and carbon-fiber spoiler still on the order sheet
Powertrain Carryover
| Spec | 2026 Lynk 07 EM-P Facelift |
|---|---|
| Engine | 1.5T four-cylinder, 120 kW (161 hp) |
| Transmission | 3-speed DHT (expected unchanged) |
| Battery | 28.3 kWh Shendun Gold Brick LFP |
| CLTC EV range | 150 km |
| Combined range | ~1,400 km |
| Body | 4,846 mm sedan, 5 seats |
The 150 km EV range remains best-in-class for a sub-¥200,000 mid-size PHEV sedan. By comparison: BYD Han DM-i 200 km EV (¥190,800), Geely Galaxy Starshine 8 EM-i 130 km EV (¥110,800), and Roewe D7 DM-i 125 km EV (¥132,800).
Why a Facelift So Soon?
The 07 EM-P was launched in mid-2025. A 12-month facelift cycle is unusual for a global automaker, but it has become common practice for Chinese PHEV sedans for three reasons:
- Market saturation in the ¥150K–¥200K segment. Over 47 nameplates now compete in the bracket. Refresh frequency is a defensive marketing tool.
- NEV-plate certification cycles. MIIT plate windows reward small annual changes (sticker, bumper) over big multi-year overhauls.
- Dealer inventory turn. A facelift triggers fresh promotional financing and trade-in incentives, accelerating same-store sales.
Performance vs. Efficiency: The DHT 3-Speed Difference
Lynk’s EM-P 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) is one of the few in the China PHEV market that uses three planetary gears rather than the two-speed or fixed-ratio designs of BYD DM-i and Geely Galaxy EM-i. The practical impact:
- Highway cruising: The engine runs at a more relaxed RPM at 120 km/h (~1,800 vs ~2,400 for BYD DM-i), cutting interior noise by roughly 4 dBA.
- Hot-day air-conditioning: The 3-speed avoids the awkward engine-on/off cycling that plagues 2-speed DHTs when battery is depleted.
- Tradeoff: Slightly higher gearbox cost, which is why the 07 EM-P starts at ¥155,800 rather than the ¥130,000 floor of single-speed competitors.
Where the 07 EM-P Sits in Lynk’s Lineup
After the facelift, Lynk’s EM-P sedan strategy looks like:
- 03 EM-P: Compact PHEV sedan, 100 km EV range, ¥130,000–¥150,000
- 06 EM-P: Mid-size sedan (China-only), 165 km EV range, ¥165,800–¥189,800
- 07 EM-P (facelift): Mid-size sedan, 150 km EV range, ¥155,800–¥185,800
- 07 GT (wagon): Performance estate, 200+ km EV range, ¥200,000+
Inside Geely, the 07 EM-P is positioned as a slightly more performance-oriented twin to the Galaxy Starshine 8 — both share the 1.5T engine but differ in tuning and interior philosophy. For Galaxy Starship 7 EV positioning, see Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EV launch report.
Pricing Outlook
No official pricing yet. Industry estimates suggest the facelift will hold the ¥155,800–¥185,800 band and instead introduce richer standard equipment (heated rear seats, upgraded ADAS) to justify the price.
FAQs
Will the 2026 Lynk 07 EM-P facelift add a battery option?
Not based on the MIIT filing. The 28.3 kWh LFP pack is the only certified battery for this refresh.
Does the 07 EM-P qualify for China’s NEV plate?
Yes. Its 150 km CLTC EV range exceeds the 43 km PHEV threshold for NEV-plate certification.
Will the facelift change Lynk’s export plans?
Lynk & Co exports the 03 and 02 to Europe via the Volvo distribution network. The 07 EM-P has not been confirmed for Europe in 2026.
What is the difference between EM-P and EM-F?
EM-P (Performance) uses larger batteries (28.3 kWh) and prioritizes EV range and total power output. EM-F (Family) uses smaller batteries (~17.5 kWh) and prioritizes lower entry price.
Editor’s note: All RMB-to-USD conversions use $1 ≈ ¥7.25. Specifications based on MIIT filing documents and subject to revision before launch.
